Welcome to Ericsberg Castle – one of Sweden’s most well-preserved and magnificent baroque castles. With its well-kept park almost magically beautiful by the Ericsberg Lake.
The baroque park at Ericsberg Castle dates back to the late 17th century. In the baroque park, one can experience the strictness and symmetry that characterizes a baroque park.
In the park, you can also experience F.W. Scholander’s beautiful fountain. Around the plantings are low-trimmed boxwood hedges and oak hedges that frame areas with both beautiful roses and crushed brick. In the middle of the park lies the beautiful rose parterre which in summer becomes a blooming jewel.
The baroque park is surrounded by the lime tree alleys planted in 2007. The lime tree avenue replaces the old avenue, which was one of the few remnants of the original baroque park.
The replacement has been carried out in as historically accurate a manner as possible, for example, the new trees are planted in the exact same place as the trees they replace. A rarity among the trees that can be experienced in the baroque park is the yellow-flowered horse chestnut (Aesculus flava).
