This year offers you the opportunity to experience and discover Sörmland’s food during a truly unique outdoor dining experience. At Stora Sundby Castle, Bergs Farm Trosa, Emma Grön in Åkers Styckebruk, Båsenberga Hotel & Conference, and in Katrineholm, you are invited to sit at the table. At these tables, meals are prepared and enjoyed beyond the ordinary, based on the specialties of each location – exclusivity, pasture-raised beef, cultural heritage, and game.

Katrineholm

Nature tables

The nature table is crafted from heartwood pine. Pines that have already lived a life on a hill north of Katrineholm. The table’s own chef is none other than Kristofer Winnerhed, who has a background at Julita Wärdshus and now runs small-scale farming and his own culinary art through Gröndal Food & Garden. With starting point in the Sörmland forests, waters, and fields, he has composed a nature-heavy menu of four dishes.
 
The nature table now returns to nature and will visit lush meadows, the deepest forests, and look out over waters. On three occasions and just as many days per site, there is an opportunity for a sensory-rich experience far beyond the impressions of the cities. The ingredients originate locally and the last might even be picked on-site where part of the experience is to see the food being cooked nearby.

Stora Sundby Castle

- an exclusive holistic experience

Book a unique, exclusive dining experience in a Sörmland castle environment. With a view over Lake Hjälmaren from the castle park with Stora Sundby castle in the foreground, a meal is prepared with Sörmland ingredients for you and your company.

A unique dining experience

Right by the shores of Lake Hjälmaren, with a view over Stora Sundby castle, you’ll receive an exclusive dining experience with finely tuned Sörmland flavors.

Directly at the table, in the castle park, a three-course dinner is prepared for you and your company by the castle’s chef.

The focus is on game from the farm and locally produced ingredients from neighboring farms. 

 
  • Taste Sörmland, the dining experience is bookable June – August 2024.
  • You sit outdoors throughout the entire experience.
  • Maximum number of 14 people and a minimum of 6 participants.
  • The dining experience takes from 2-5 hours, depending on how long you wish to stay at the table.
  • Please note that in case of rain or bad weather, the dinner experience will be moved to the farm’s old rustic forge.
  • The price for the experience is provided upon request.
  • Suitable drinks may be brought.

Bergs Gård Trosa

- in the oak grove on the farm

This year’s Taste of Sörmland offers a fantastic taste experience created by chef Johan Brunnström at Sjölundabacken Mat & Joy.

You pick up ingredients and a cooking kit at the farm shop/reception. It’s about a 600 m walk along our lovely nature trail, among oaks and cows. Here you cook together with the whole group. This activity is available as lunch or dinner.

For a meat-free experience, we swap the meat for portobello mushrooms & grilled cheese from Sörbro Gård

Emma Grön

- locally produced in forests & meadowland

Surrounded by forests and meadowland, the table is located at Högberga Gård. Here you can hear birds chirping and there’s a good chance you’ll see wild animals in the surroundings. A menu is served at the rustic table, which includes locally produced meat from the neighboring farm, Rekarnekött.

The serving and the menu are provided by Emma Grön. Choose from various dining experiences, from a 5-course dinner with a chef to snacks and cake celebrations. If you want to be active during the meal, there is a nearby ancient trail with relics from Viking times where you can take a walk, and if you want to go horseback riding during the meal, it can be arranged.

We serve food according to the season and requests, Emma Grön gladly takes requests.

Båsenberga Hotel & Conference

- exclusive overall experience

During the summer of 2023, you can experience a unique culinary experience at Båsenberga Hotel & Conference, with your own chef and serving staff.

 

The experience is bookable on request.

 

Experience the Sörmland nature combined with an exclusive five-course menu with us at Båsenberga. 

Amid cow pastures, open fields and with the lake as a beautiful painting in the background, you enjoy a dinner you won’t soon forget. The inspiration and ingredients are sourced from our local area and prepared with genuine love for good taste. 

The dining experience is enjoyed with your company outdoors, and during the evening, one of our fantastic chefs will host. The menu is created by our strong team who together have composed a menu where they’ve drawn inspiration from their childhood and upbringing in Sörmland. 

The experience can be booked separately or combined with accommodation and breakfast.

For the menu, you can choose a beverage package with selected wines by the sommelier. Of course, there is also a non-alcoholic beverage package available.

  • Overnight accommodation can be booked from 850 SEK including VAT/person. The accommodation package includes our breakfast buffet.
  • Taste Sörmland, the dining experience is bookable on request.
  • You will be seated outdoors throughout the experience; in bad weather, we can serve the menu in our restaurant.
  • Maximum number of 10 people, minimum number of participants is 8 people. 
  • The experience takes between 3-5 hours.
