Taxinge Castle – the Cake Castle® by the Shores of Lake Mälaren

In a stately castle environment right next to Mälaren, Åsa Fimmerstad and her colleagues prepare a sumptuous buffet of cakes and pastries every day.

– My mother started this business over 40 years ago. Back then, she used grandma’s recipes for a traditional Swedish coffee party with seven kinds of cookies.

Even today, the classic recipes are the most popular, they endure year after year. But new trends are also introduced.

– At Taxinge Castle, everyone can find something they like, says Åsa Fimmerstad. We have about 80-100 different pastries on the buffet every day.

– We’ve become known as the cake castle®. Our customers appreciate the wide selection and the craftsmanship that lies behind our cake buffet. And that we always use the finest ingredients like real butter and cream.

The cake castle® is the main attraction in Taxinge, but there is much more to discover here. Make sure to have time for a walk in the beautiful surroundings when you plan your visit. The Näsby estate, to which the castle belongs, dates back to medieval times. In the buildings around the castle, there is both an art gallery and a ceramics studio. In the cozy gift shop, you’ll find unique products, and there is also an outdoor shop in the area. Next to the castle, trotting horses can be seen grazing in the pasture.

The castle is beautifully located on a peninsula in Mälaren. Don’t forget your swimwear if you visit on a sunny day. There’s a lovely sandy beach in the bay below the castle.

At Taxinge castle, conferences, weddings, and parties are also organized.

– People come here to eat really good pastries and at the same time enjoy a visit to the countryside and experience both the old castle and the Sörmland nature, says Åsa Fimmerstad, welcoming both new and old guests.
