It all started with Stina Boman and her seven beautiful girls at Bomans Dining Rooms in Nyköping during the ’30s-’50s. Stina’s granddaughter, Birgitta, was there as a child and has after that always longed for her own restaurant and hotel. When her daughter Kristin wanted to come home from New York, where she worked for a few years,Birgitta, together with her husband Björn, made a decisive move and, together with Kristin, bought Hotel Strömsborg in Trosa. Here, it is anything but stripped down, and the owner’s family’s playful approach to interior design shines throughout the house. If you like Nordic minimalism, Bomans is not the right choice.
