Stiftsgården Stjärnholm attracts with beautiful nature and relaxation in a castle environment

To the episcopal retreat Stjärnholm, people come to relax in beautiful surroundings. The old castle is nestled in lush greenery, just a stone’s throw from the Baltic Sea.

The Stjärnholm Castle is a diocesan retreat owned by the Church of Sweden. Conferences and camps are common, but it’s also fine to visit as an individual. Stjärnholm offers a variety of accommodations. Choose between a luxurious hotel room in the castle, a rural manor environment in the wing, or simpler, but fresh, rooms in the annex Nygården.

In the castle, all guests are welcome into the lounges. Enjoy beautifully adorned stoves and furnishings from the 18th century. The retreat’s own chapel is always open for a moment of contemplation.

– When you come here, you should feel well taken care of, says Anna Blåder, communicator. Many guests who come here are pleasantly surprised by the tranquility and the beautiful surroundings. Here you can really relax, eat well, sleep in, and stroll around the park surrounding the castle.

In the park, there are about 30 sculptures by different artists to discover. There are also large green areas inviting activities. Stjärnholm Church, built in the 17th century, is within walking distance.

The Sörmland Trail passes the castle, offering opportunities for both shorter and longer hikes. Feel free to book a hiking package, which includes a map and packed lunch. When you return to Stjärnholm, you can relax your joints in the sauna and enjoy a good à la carte dinner.

Stjärnholm is an excellent choice for golfers too. Within an hour from the castle, there are no less than eight golf courses. Families with children often appreciate the Kolmården package, but there is plenty to do even if you choose not to leave Stjärnholm during your stay. Outside, there is a small playground and inside the castle a playroom. If you want to swim, the Baltic Sea is right next to the hotel. There is also the option to borrow a canoe for a tour on Stjärnholm Bay. You might find your own little rock to land on, for sunbathing and swimming.
