Mariefreds kyrka

The church in its current form was completed in 1701 and is a characteristic building from the Swedish Empire period. Some call it the “church of queens” because the two dowager queens Christina, married to Charles IX, and Hedvig Eleonora, married to Charles X, contributed funds for its construction.
