On the fantastic Sävö Island, tranquility reigns and the stressed soul finds peace. The entire island is a nature and cultural reserve in the Sörmland archipelago between Trosa and Nyköping. The red wooden houses that now house the hostel were built in 1870.
Here you can stay and have coffee in historical pilot accommodations on the island of Sävö in the Sörmland archipelago. At the hostel and its surroundings, you can enjoy the tranquility, nature, and find your own secret spot by the sea.
Maaike and Ingo took over the hostel in 2021 and reopened the café. They serve homemade pastries, ice cream, sweets, locally produced products, and much more.
Treasure hunts for all ages are available, or purchase a barbecue bag with locally produced sausages that you can grill on one of the many magical rocks on the island.
You can also rent SUP and canoes to explore the archipelago on your own.
The hostel has 27 beds, spread over 7 cozy rooms, and is perfect for families with children, groups, training camps, and outdoor enthusiasts. The hostel is equipped for self-catering with 2 well-equipped kitchens, and breakfast can be booked!
For groups, there are two larger common rooms where you can gather at long tables.
In the Sävö nature reserve, you can experience a fantastically beautiful and varied environment with forests, meadows, pastures, and high cliffs. You can hike on several well-marked trails, one of which is the Sörmlandsleden.
A small Pilot Museum by the hostel with, among other things, old photographs, can be visited for free.
At Sävö Hostel & Café, there is a large lush garden with fruit trees and plenty of grassy areas for ball games, barbecuing, and other activities. The beach by the hostel makes it easy to swim.
