The Hiking Trails stretch over varied terrain on both paths, field edges, forest areas, and gravel roads. They are marked and have pleasant information signs. A map sketch is included in the picnic basket. There are shortcuts available if you want to arrive faster. All trails offer swimming opportunities along the way. In winter, the trails also work but are of course not plowed!
There are nice alternative small roads and paths for easier hiking, which are suitable for those with mobility impairments or strollers.
The Wetland Trail (5 km): Enchanting hike through oak groves, hazel thicket, and cattle pastures along the shore of Lånhalsen. A climb up the ancient fortress of Eldberget offers a spectacular view. Södermanland’s largest restored wetland with rich birdlife is also rounded. Find your own little lake inlet for a swim or stop at our small Hopen bathing spot. Starts from Torpsallén.
The Ancient Monument Trail (5 km): The first and largest part goes through pastures and deciduous groves with many remains, mostly from the Bronze Age. The slope of Boberget is climbed to an ancient fortress by the lake. It can be avoided and rounded if tired – but then take a dip in Lånhalsen. The way back is an easy-to-walk gravel road in undulating landscape. Starts from Valla Farm.
The Forest Trail (15 km): Can also be cycled. Gravel road and paths. Swimming spot in Lidsjön. Starts from the parish cottage.
Öksund Trail (15 km): Can also be cycled. Gravel road and paths. Starts from the Husbygård bridgehead.
Cycling. Two of our hiking trails are excellent for cycling, and the Näckrosleden passes nearby. The village has many small roads where you can find your own routes. Bicycles need to be brought, but we can arrange a few “everyday bikes” if warned in advance.
