The steamship Mariefred was set in service in 1903 on the route Stockholm-Enhörna-Mariefred. On this route she has sailed under the same name, with few changes onboard and with the same steam engine ever since.
The steamship Mariefred’s season traditionally begins at the end of May and concludes in mid-September. At the beginning and end of the season, the boat operates only on weekend traffic, Saturdays and Sundays. During ten summer weeks in June, July, and August, she sails daily on the route Stockholm-Enhörna-Mariefred, except on Mondays. On Saturdays and Sundays throughout the entire season, s/s Mariefred also runs trips between Mariefred and Taxinge Näsby.
The vessel has a dining room on the upper deck for 30 guests and a cafeteria on the lower deck. The menu in Mariefred’s dining room includes, among other things, steamship steak and salmon. The dining room has full wine and spirits licenses. In addition to regular traffic, charter traffic is also offered, in Mälaren and Stockholm’s archipelago, a service that in recent years has become increasingly popular. The charter price is calculated per hour, with a minimum rental period of 4 hours from and to the boat’s regular berth at Klara Mälarstrand (at Stadshusbron) in Stockholm.
